1. Start by letting natural light in.

We all know that being surrounded by natural daylight can lift our overall moods tremendously.

That mostly all sunny days paired with a healthy active lifestyle are just plain awesome for our outlook in life!

On the flip side, it’s virtually impossible to have sunny days every day.

And here’s what happens if you are deprived of it…

Without enough natural sunlight, serotonin levels drop, (which is associated with seasonal affective disorder ) when this happens it deeply affects our daily mood especially if we live somewhere that doesn’t get enough sunlight, mostly during the cold dark winter months

Now with having natural sunlight, it helps to increase the release of serotonin, which is known as the happy hormone.

This hormone really helps lift up your overall mood, as well as help you feel more focused and relaxed.

So if the sun doesn’t shine where you live?

Open up those blinds in the morning, don’t forget to take vitamin D supplements, and consider getting a light therapy enhancer to help you lift your vitamin D deficient mood if that is dampening most of your days.

2. Establish a routine.

We all would like to be in a happy state every day but sometimes our schedules don’t allow for it.

That’s why establishing a daily routine (that you can stick with) will allow you to create a habit of getting everything that you want to get done, done!

Plus sticking to a routine that you enjoy is of course going to be a simple mood booster.

So how do you do this?  The trick to establishing any healthy daily routine is to know exactly what you want to do and follow through with it.

If you have no clue, that’s okay!

Start writing down what your morning dream routine looks like and do it all the way through to how you would like to see your night routine to look like.

Put it all down on paper. Include all of the little tiny minuscule details that you see yourself accomplishing throughout your perfect day.

And try to follow it as much as you can after you’ve written it all down.

Even if you can’t manifest the whole routine right off the bat, at least you are heading in the right direction!

3. Exercise for 5 mins daily.

If you are feeling low, then the best thing that you can do to improve your mood is to get moving!

Whatever exercise you choose will help improve your mood or whatever has been bogging you down.

Moving your body is just good for the body and the mind. It’s an instant mood enhancer and it most usually gets out any aggression, pent-up energy, or anything that’s just really bothering you!

If you feel really lazy and or are stuck in how to start? Another great idea is to get your hands on the Tabata app.  You only need five minutes for easy and fast workouts.

4. Get outside and breathe the fresh air.

If you’re someone who can go the whole day without leaving the house? Just make sure it doesn’t turn into a habit. Especially if you are someone who works from home

Sometimes at the end of the day, it can all come down to our lifestyles.

And a really easy and free mood booster to help you turn that mood around is to get outside — and more often!

If you have a hard time doing this then now is the best time to get assistance with your very own outdoor activity tracking app.

Handy apps have been built for you to help you keep track of your outdoor activity.

It’s sort of like having a handy guide that’ll show you how much time you spent active and outdoors.

The app that I have is called Sweat Coin

When you sign up, the app will track your only outdoor movement.

Plus you can earn sweat coins with every step you take and you can use those coins to purchase goods in their market which also sells health and wellness products!

You have to check out Sweatcoin if you haven’t yet.

Whatever you do, get outside and breathe the fresh air, especially during the times when you’re feeling down.

5. Hyperfocus on a passion project.

It’s becoming more and more commonly accepted that to get the most creative, powerful, and worthwhile stuff done, it usually involves some sort of passion.

That’s because when you can attain a state of flow, simply by working on something that in which you love to do the most, it sort of becomes a mood-boosting activity that lifts your spirits all on its own.

To turn your mood around, start fully immersing yourself in what you love to do the most and start forgetting about time and forgetting all about your bad mood when you are doing it.

Sometimes at the end of the day, all we need is a task that’ll renew us from within.

6. Recognize that a Full Night’s Sleep will give You a better overall mood.

If you’re sleeping less than you need regularly?

You’re asking for your body to perform under conditions that are problematic.

And when this happens you’re setting yourself up for disappointment virtually even before you start your day.

University of Pennsylvania researchers found that subjects who were limited to only 4.5 hours of sleep a night for one week reported feeling more stressed, angry, sad, and mentally exhausted.

All of which, we can all agree, is just bad moods.

In fact, experts are also beginning to recognize that working more and sleeping less is not the solution to living a happy and productive life.

They suggest that having good healthy sleep consistently will have exceptional benefits in your life because when the subjects from that research study resumed normal sleep, they reported a dramatic improvement in their overall mood.

Here are some handy tips to improve your sleep quality to help turn your mood around:

    • Write down how many hours of sleep you get every night and when you feel the most relaxed and rested. You should have a better idea of how you’re doing after a week of logging it down, and you’ll start noticing how much sleep you really need.
    • Be consistent. Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, including weekends.
    • Keep your bedroom dark, cool, and quiet. Experts suggest that ideally, your room should be between 60 and 67°F (15.6 and 19.4°C).
    • Nap only if you really have to. If you have to take a nap during the day, try to limit it to 20 minutes. Any more and your body starts rebuilding and that causes sleep disruption and grogginess.
