Having intent and setting intentions is an incredible method to fixate on what you want and what you desire for your future self. It’s a way of concentrating on things that matter the most by actively centering your thoughts to move in the right direction for the things that bring you joy.
And did you know that setting intentions is a natural process for creating the life that you desire? That’s right! Most successful people are already living this way. They know it works and I hope you find soon enough, that it will work for you as well.
Here are 10 easy ways to set the right intentions so you can master your day and manifest what you truly want!

1. Discover what you really want
Right now is the best time to discover what is most important to you, so you can find creative ways of making what you really want to come to life. Remember, you’ll only follow through with your intentions (for the day) if they really matter to you. So to find out what matters to you most… List out all of the things you want vs the things you need. Usually, if you really need it to survive, and lack having it, this would be a good one to put a deliberate focus on first.
2. Work on your focus
Now that you have a primary intention all picked out, now is the time to focus all of your energy into what you want the outcome to be.
Write it out, explain to yourself what you will need to do in order to get there. By doing this you’ll have the outcome and the final result crystal clear in your mind and this will set you up into breaking your intention into mini tangible actions.
Also having a really clear intent to only focus on what you want the outcome to be for that one intention while working towards that focus with little incremental actions, it will help you follow through with bringing your daily intention to life.
3. Keep your intentions short and to the point
The fourth step is rather simple because we are going to now, take action from your intent and shorten your intention a little bit, so you can HOLD it in your mind’s eye throughout the day.
Your intention shouldn’t be longer than a sentence, so try and keep it short and sweet as much as possible. An example would be something like this, “I intend to practice one act of self-love today.” or “I intend to clean my room” or “I intend to do 30 squats”
4. Add action to your intention
Now that you have created a shorter and more actionable intention, now is the time to make sure that your daily intention makes you act towards your end result. Intentions not only have to be short and to the point like the above step, but taking action is KEY if you want to create and manifest your desires.
Keep in mind that your intention also shouldn’t be vague… like “I want to be a photographer” because want implies that you have a choice and that’s not really effective. Instead, your intent should be more action-based such as, “I intend to take three pictures today”. As if it’s already GOING to happen.
5. Edit your intention with the right phrasing to believe
Now that you have a shorter intention with an action base to it or a way to feel.. you must believe your intent so much that there’s no way around it or that there is no excuse to not follow through with it.
If your intentions don’t get you moving or feeling? Then you haven’t set your intentions properly and you must go back to your final outcome (whether it be the goal or feeling) and scale it back to how you are going to get there.
Remember, the intention must be created to convince you to follow through! Look for any hesitation words like “I’ll try” or “I want” and remove them. For example, saying “I am going to try to work out today,” gives you a way out. Whereas “I am going to be active today,” makes your intention much more believable.
6. Write your intention down to make it more concrete
Physically writing down your intentions can make them more real and tangible. In fact, writing them down multiple times and then saying them out loud will also help you memorize your intent and make acting on your intent easier throughout the day.
7. Meditate on your intention to give it more energy
If you can, spend some time with your eyes closed, breathing, and focusing for a few minutes on your daily intentions. Think for a couple of minutes and let it sink in. Your mind has a powerful way of finding ways to bring your intents to life if you let your mind absorb it and really take in the desire you’ve set your intention on.
8. Create a mantra
Know that not all intentions have to be goal-oriented. This is because you can also use them to change your thinking patterns.
For example, your intention could be, “I intend to change every negative thought into a positive thought for today,” or “I will be grateful for my job, my home and my family today.” But the key to manifesting is repeating your mantra (only after you really know what you’ve set out as your daily intention) and repeating it so it gets ingrained in your mind’s eye.
Then your intent can be used to prosper in so many ways just by doing this one tip alone.
9. Set it free and let the universe work hard for you
A daily intention can be how you want to feel for the day or what you’d like to accomplish throughout the day, but they both involve some level of passion and desire for a specific outcome.
Ask yourself what you would like to receive and focus on setting intentions for it and BELIEVE that the universe will do the rest. The universe has many ways of bringing what you want to fruition, especially if you BELIEVE it will happen for you. If it doesn’t happen for you, please don’t lose hope. Know that the more faith you have, the better your results will be in letting the universe work on your behalf.
10. Celebrate your progress and repeat
When it comes to manifesting at the end of the day, all you have to do is look at how well you’ve done and celebrate your progress. Maybe you’ve stopped a really bad habit or maybe you’re waking up earlier? Whatever the results, celebrate yourself and you’ll be more excited to create a life with intent as time goes by.
